M. Carmen Galan, co-CSO
M. Carmen Galan (School of Chemistry, University of Bristol) is currently Professor of Organic and Biological Chemistry. In 2014, she was awarded an ERC consolidator grant. Prior to that, she held an EPSRC Career Acceleration Fellowship (2012-2017), a RS Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowship (2008-2012) and a temporary lectureship (2006-2008) within the same School.
Her independent research focuses on development of general and efficient methodologies for synthesis of biologically relevant oligosaccharides and novel glycan-based nanoplatforms for biological applications in the areas of plant biology, cancer and bacterial infections. Her research interests lie on the synthesis and application of nanomaterials for biological exploration.
